Welcome to Role Play High School, otherwise known as RPHS!

We running the forum are hoping to maintain a fun and happy atmosphere, but in order to do that, we must establish a few rules. These rules and guidelines pertain strictly to the high school part of the forum. For general forum rules, please visit the Introduction category, under "Rules."

First, you always have to make a character bio. You can find a skeleton in the "Office" where your bio will also be posted. You can also find a schedule, along with the classes you are able to apply to. This is the first step to take. Characters must be accepted before beginning.

Characters can have controversy, as in any highschool, but if you have a problem with another member, don't allow it to influence your posts and your character's attitude towards another. Be friendly to the other members, or at bare minimum, civil.

Always acknowledge new members, to make the transition smooth and welcoming. The more people, the more fun!

Of course, in a high school environment, we will come across a few touchy subjects pertaining to sex, drugs, alcohol, racism, discrimination, and other controversial topics. We ask that you do now reflect personal beliefs through characters, if it could offend another person. We don't wish to limit creativity, so we won't tell you that if you want a racist character, you can't make one, but be careful around touchy subjects so as not to offend others. Drugs and alcohol are permitted to be mentioned, as they are commonly associated with teens and high school life. Sex too can be mentioned, but be sure to label the post with a warning if it contains sexual content. If the post is deemed sexual in nature and does not have a label, posts are subject to being edited, or deleted. Course language may also be used if desired.

We also ask that you dont be too terribly grim with every single aspect to your character. Be realistic. Most people don't have a dead dad, an abusive mother, some horrible disease or illness, crash their car, lose a limb, get shot in the leg, are kicked out of home, and find out they are pregnant and without a father for their child. To have all these controversies at once would be unrealistic and take away from the feel of the roleplay. I'll let you be the judge of what is too much and what isn't.

We also ask that you don't god mode. For those new to RPing, or who never saw this term before, god moding is when you control the characters of someone else. The only exception to this is if the owner of the character gives you special permission to control their character, or if an admin or mod has to control a character due to inactivity.

Post with content as much as possible; one liners are frowned down upon.

No double posting; this means if you post once, you cannot post again until someone else has replied to your post. If you have more to add, edit the previous post.

If a character interacts with yours, even if you don't agree with the interaction, be sure to acknowledge or respond to it. If you have issues concerning another member, simply contact an admin. We are here to help.

Finally, do not spam post, alone or with a friend. This pertains to logging on and posting rapidly together, without the other members being around. This leaves them far behind and makes things difficult. If you want to post with a friend, do not exceed a page of posts between just you and that group, while other members are away, and do not change the time and setting.

As we run into more complications, more rules may be made regarding them. Remember that rules are subject to change, and if you wish to do something you think may be questionable, to first consult an admin.

Thank you for reading, and you may now begin the making of a character!
